What’s your role at DATS and what does it entail?
I’m a Recruitment Resourcer, which means I’m mainly candidate focussed. I build relationships with candidates and facilitate their job search and recruitment needs. I headhunt the right kind of candidates for clients, qualifying them for the role and ensuring that they would be a good fit.
Tell us about your background
When I first started working with DATS I had no prior recruitment knowledge or experience – I was just confident on the telephone. I was recruited as an Apprentice and am loving gaining more and more industry knowledge and experience, and learning more about recruitment every day.
You’ve clearly found your niche in recruitment. What’s the best thing about it?
I like how it’s an everchanging market. Nothing stays the same, and so there’s always something new to learn.
In my role I really get a buzz from being contacted by referred candidates. Having a candidate request that I assist them in their job search, and knowing that the candidate has come to me instead of another recruiter because of the quality of my service, really gives me a great sense of satisfaction.
Any favourite places you’ve visited?
Definitely Paris – it’s busy, beautiful and cultured.
And any interesting facts about yourself?
Only that I have an incredible phobia of cows. It all started when I was about seven years old and on a school trip to a farm. A cow started eating my hair and I’ve not been a fan since.
